Year Round Fitness

The Baltimore Dragon Boat Club trains nearly the entire year, directing different types of Dragon Boat paddlers (novices, Breast Cancer Survivors, youth and general club members) and a very competitive and successful race team. Beginning with “land training” in mid-January until the final “water practice” in late October, we accept new and veteran paddlers throughout the season.

On the Water

General practices focus on the fun of the sport, technique, and conditioning to develop a healthier, stronger and happier you. Race practices focus on the more “sport specific” training such as teamwork speed, race tactics/strategy, and ultra-competitive workouts on and off the water. Throughout the season you will notice the difference an active lifestyle in Dragon Boating brings to your life. You will discover new friends, new health, and the competitive edge for which you have been looking.

A Better You

Our goal is not only to teach you to be a great Dragon Boat paddler, but to help you learn, maintain, or rediscover the healthy lifestyle that leads you to be in the best shape of your life, to experience the thrill of a competitive sport, and to find happiness in healthy living.

Combine Training Center

The Land Training is held at the UA Combine Training Center managed by FX Studios. Concentrating on core strength and conditioning, we train as a club two days a week with an FX Studios personal trainer, meet for group runs, extra workouts, and after-training dinners and brunches.  Land training is currently happening Wednesdays at 6:15 PM and Saturdays at 8 AM.

Water Practice

Water Practices begin in mid-March at the Under Armour Sports Complex, in the Baltimore Harbor. We hold water practices four days a week, with general practices for new and veteran paddlers on Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings, race practices on Monday nights, and Friday morning practices during the summer months.
