Each year, BDBC hosts its own race right on the Inner Harbor. The Baltimore Dragon Boat Challenge started as a local scrimmage in 2009, but now draws teams from across the Midwest and East Coast. The Baltimore Peninsula waterfront at the Port Covington Marina becomes a tent city as teams rally for 200-meter, 500-meter and 2000-meter races. Our club members run the entire event: singing the national anthem, marshalling, docking, announcing, judging, selling merchandise and designing and distributing medals. The race is covered by local TV news, and in 2018 the mayor declared the BDBC Challenge to be the official Dragon Boat Day in Baltimore.

Races will be 200m and 500m and if time permits, a 2000m race will be offered to qualifying participants. Please see "Rules and Regs" link below for more info.
